Storyline of - 'Jalsa'

Jalsa - finally resulted in great dissatisfaction in the story of the flick as it promised lot of things in the beginning. This movie starts with voice over of Mahesh Babu by referring himself as friend of Sanjay - Pavan Kalyan, hero Pavan is introduced as alcoholic, Kamalini Mukherjee is introduced as Pavan's lover, Prakash Raj is father of Kamalini Mukherjee gets married to another person after a year which would be attended by Pavan Kalyan. Parvathi and Illeana enter his life in form of introduction fight which is done to expose Pavan skills.

Illeana wins Pavan with help of Sunil, Mukesh Rushi is introduced as trusted friend of Tanikella Bharani who happens to be a notorious factionist makes lives settlements from jail. Comedy of flick is good between Pavan and Illeana, songs are amazing and worked out very well, Pavan and Mukesh builds expectations. Mukesh sees Pavan for first time in flick intends to grab him but fails, Pavan is not aware of all these developments, Mukesh plots an execution but withdraws it at last minute stating that Pavan should suffer before his death, from here it would be a cat and mouse fight.

Second half of movie starts with Pavan Kalyan's explaining his flashback of childhood, which would have dent of naxals background, this is the point where story starts deviating the stream. Reason of Pavan joining naxals is justified here but why is totally logical. Mahesh voice over lets us know that he has been promoted to a higher cadre in group.

Fighters groups try to rope in Pavan into their group from nowhere, he rejects them in the meanwhile love drama takes many twists, Illeana father being Prakash Raj a police office, villain is shown with powerful background. Songs are very badly filmed with buildups for any songs at all. This is just nowhere. Though music composed is excellent.

First rate of comedy by Pawan worked amazingly well, his fights have been choreographed well and his dance is crisp, but it would have been good if Pavan would have danced for Jalsa song rather than walking.

Director - Trivikram Srenivas is confused, storyline track is missed out fully, makes us feel is it love story flick, it would have been better if more clarity would have been given in the movie. Trivikram has wonderful team to do their job, but could not properly utilize them. Parvati role is wasted, comedy worked out well with Brahmanandam.

On the Whole:

Overall Jalsa is is alright, one thing for sure, paying money for ticket is worth, but don't expect too much from movie, just take it as it comes, If you think of story then its a brainless work by Trivikram
