Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the five ODI series in Sri Lanka after suffering an injury in his left elbow. Tendulkar was hurt during the Third Test Match in colombo. Tamil Nadu batsman, S.Badrinath has been called in as his replacement. Tendulkar hurt his elbow in an attempt to catch in the 47th over of the Sri Lankan innings. He was quickly taken off from the ground and MRI scans did reveal that there was some swelling on the elbow. He didn’t make it to the ground for the rest of the day on Saturday. However, he did bat on the fourth day for the Indian second innings. Tendulkar made 14 runs and is still short of 77 runs in order to surpass Brian Lara’s record. It is important to know that Tendulkar is also a part of the Champion’s trophy in Pakistan this September. On the other hand, Badrinath has confirmed his inclusion in the national squad and will be leaving for Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
